OUR STORY
Hi, I’m Brittany, and in 2022, my little brother Jacob was killed in a motorcycle accident on his way home from spending the weekend with me. He was just 22 years old, and as you can imagine, my family was absolutely heartbroken.
GriefBox is inspired in Jacob’s memory - Jacob was a special soul, never wanting anyone to feel alone in whatever they were going through.
GriefBox a collection of things I wished I had when I was fresh in my grief journey - a place to connect & chat with people experiencing similar loss. A place to find resources & coping tools, and a place to find vetted professionals that can assist with moving through the various waves of grief.
Our Care Packages are hand packed with love by my mom and I, and full of items we wished we had in our early stages of grief.

Story Behind the Care Packages
After losing Jacob, my mom and I poured our hearts into creating care packages for other grievers in our community.
We know firsthand how difficult and lonely the grieving process can be. We also know how hard it is for our close friends and family to know what to do or say in an attempt to comfort us. That’s why we created GriefBox care packages. Each GriefBox care package is born out of love and packed full of things we found helpful throughout our grieving process. By sending a GriefBox care package, you’re sending a message of "I know this will be painful, and I'm here for you."
If there is one thing we have learned on our grieving journey, it's this: There is nothing you can do or say to take away the pain of grief, but being there to weather the storm means the world. Be there when it matters most.

The Story behind our Logo
Jacob loved to surf. On a good day, you could find him in the water at sunrise and sunset. Jacob would buy and refurbish old, used surfboards, adding his special touch. When Jacob passed, we had a paddle-out celebration of life ceremony. Friends and family paddled out on their surfboards and held a ceremony for Jacob featuring one of the boards Jacob designed.
In honor of Jacob, Jacob’s surfboard is centered in our GriefBox logo as a tribute to his passion for surfing and the water.
